The Children of Siem Reap

As in Phnom Penh, most of our time in Siem Reap was spent with the high-spirited children. Their intoxicating laughter and smiles are what we will remember the most. We were happy to give our time to Anjali House and PCL (People for Care and Learning), two organizations making a real difference for the children of Cambodia.

The genocide in the 70's, has left 50% of the population under the age of 25. Therefore, the future of this country literally is held with the youth of today. Unfortunately, the government is not providing proper education. For example, we met many teenagers who had never been to school and are now at a 1st grade education level. Anjali House and PCL are helping to combat this situation. To learn more about these organizations go to: http://www.anjali-house.com and http://peopleforcare.org/

Watch how you go...

  4. Your Anjali pictures are awesome! I spent August/September as a voulunteer at Anjali, but just found your blog today. It's weird (but good weird) to see new pictures of the kids I knew and loved. Hope you had a fabulous time on your RTW.
