Tuscany

After Budapest, we stopped in Vienna and stayed with our friend Christa and her husband Matt. Rain prevented us from doing much outside so we took advantage of staying with a friend and had some great home time.

Fed up with the rain, we decided to escape bad weather and head due south to Tuscany. Going from Austria to Italy really made us feel how short distances in Europe can bring you to a totally different place. We found an amazing little B&B surrounded by the gorgeous rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside. Only a short drive away were the beautiful towns of Siena, Montalcino and Asciano. Unexpectedly, we were in Siena during the lead up to the Palio horse race. The energy in the city was palpable.
