Lake Hawea & Wanaka

One of the best things about the campervan ("Keith") is pulling off the side of the road and camping out for the night. We arrived at Lake Hawea just as the sun was setting, got out the table and chairs and had dinner (cheese and crackers) with the sandflies.

The next morning we drove a few miles to Wanaka and went horseback riding. There was a cool breeze along the hillside that felt so nice against the strong sun. It was completely calming except when our great guides taught us how to trot which really hurt! We learned something interesting about horses. The magnitude of their bodily functions is directly proportional to their body mass. Holy shit! And we mean that literally!

Later that day we made our way to Queenstown.

Watch how you go...

  1. You guys are SO Brokeback Mountain (minus the depressing ending and actual cowboy clothes). I love it!
