We picked up our car in Frankfurt and headed out on the road. We have been craving the freedom of road-tripping since New Zealand. First stop - the picturesque countryside of Germany and Austria complete with Alpine hill towns and fairy tale castles. Cinderella's castle in Disneyland is modeled after King Ludwig's Neuschwanstein castle in Fussen, Germany. It totally makes sense because the King was obsessed with living in a fairy tale and built his gorgeous castle perched on a hilltop overlooking the valley below.
